AKEN builds industrial structures across Odisha and pan-India. The company exists because industrial projects kept failing in the same place: between the party that designed the building, the party that made the steel, and the party that put it up. We put all three in one organisation and made one team answerable for the result.
What we actually do
Most of our work is pre-engineered buildings and industrial sheds — the buildings that house production lines, storage and material handling. Around that core we run warehousing projects as a turnkey package, industrial roofing and re-sheeting over live plants, and annual maintenance contracts for facilities that are already operating.
We fabricate in-house. Plate cutting, welding, drilling, shot blasting and painting happen in our own shop, which is the difference between a contractor who can hold a schedule and one who can only relay what a supplier told him.
How we got here
The company started as a fabrication shop serving plant maintenance teams around Bhubaneswar and Cuttack — small structural repairs, shed work, shutdown support. That work taught us what actually breaks in an industrial building and why.
When clients began asking us to build the sheds we had been repairing, we moved into design and erection. Today we deliver complete facilities, and the maintenance business keeps us honest: we know where these buildings fail ten years later because we are the ones called back to fix them.

Four rules that decide how a project runs.
These are not values on a wall. Each one is something a client can hold us to on site, and something a competitor often cannot offer.

Engineering before procurement
Drawings are approved before steel is ordered. It is slower for one week and faster for the whole project, because nothing has to be remade.

One accountable party
Design, fabrication and erection sit under one contract. When a dimension does not match, the conversation is internal.

Written handover
As-built drawings, test records and a closed defect list. If it is not documented, we do not claim it was done.

Respect for a running plant
Production does not stop because we are on site. Work is planned around it, with permits, protection and daily closure.

Crews work under permit-to-work discipline with work-at-height and hot-work controls. For live plants that is not a formality; it is the reason maintenance teams let us back in year after year.
